This week, the Association of National Teaching Fellows (ANTF) submitted their response to the TEF Technical Consultation, published by BIS in May (along with the responses to the TEF Green Paper). This consultation aims to flesh out some of the details for the TEF in Year 2, especially how it will assess and define teaching excellence (e.g. ANTF believe recognition of teacher training and awards such as UKPSF and/or NTF is missing); how metrics and evidence will be combined to form judgements about excellence; and how TEF outcomes will be communicated.
The full ANTF response reflects feedback from over 100 members of the National Teaching Fellow Community, including those opposed to the TEF.
Also worth looking at the HEA’s response to the TEF Technical Consultation; they appear to support much of the detail in the consultation, but reiterate concerns with the core metrics proposed in the TEF.
Interesting that one NTF wished to be disavowed.
