Survey: impact of COVID-19 on early years settings in the UK

With colleagues from Swansea University, Bangor University, UWTSD and Children in Wales, we are investigating the impact of COVID-19 on early childhood education and care (ECEC) provision across the UK. We are looking for input from people who work in the early years sector (with children aged 0-8) — practitioners, childcare workers, setting managers, and primary school teachers — to tell us about their experiences of working during the coronavirus pandemic.

Further to our recent work in this area, we wish to better understand the impact of the changes that have been made, as well as practitioner perceptions of these changes; we focus on the impact of coronavirus on early years provision, practitioners and children. The findings from this research will be used to better inform emerging policy and practice across the four nations of the UK, to better understand and support settings and schools in dealing with current and future events of this kind.
